Parkour is more than learning how to jump over things.
It’s learning how to challenge yourself, solve problems, work with other people, and become more capable through movement.
I’ve spent a lot of years training, coaching, traveling, and being part of the parkour community, and some of the most important things parkour has given me have very little to do with specific techniques.
That’s what this workshop is about.
What We’re Going to Do
This is going to be a 90 minute interactive parkour workshop focused on movement, mindset, and community.
We’ll train. We’ll play. We’ll work through challenges individually and together.
And throughout the workshop, we’ll explore some of the ideas that make parkour different from simply learning tricks or exercising.
Things like:
Noticing fear in challenging moments and still making good decisions
Learning how to identify and improve your own skill level and not always need to compare yourself with others
How to train with people who have completely different ability levels and still have fun challenging each other
How to use obstacles as problems to solve; physically, mentally, and socially
How to help the people around you succeed, and learn from them at the same time
How parkour can build confidence, creativity, independence, and community for the rest of your life
You do not need to already be good at parkour.
Actually, if you’re relatively new, that’s completely fine.
The workshop is designed so beginners and intermediate students can participate together.
Who This Is For
This workshop is for beginner and intermediate parkour students who want to understand parkour at a deeper level.
Parents are also welcome to attend.
What I Want You to Leave With
My goal isn’t for you to leave knowing one new trick, although you likely will learn many.
I want you to leave seeing parkour, and the world around you, a little differently.
I want you to understand how you can use it to
challenge yourself,
connect with other people,
become a better training partner,
and continue growing long after this workshop is over.
That’s the part of parkour that lasts.
